About
Stephanie Hohn

As a fitness professional, I aim to provide all those who I encounter with a positive energy and perspective. My goal is to educate people on how all of their goals can be well tied together and achieved faster with a healthier lifestyle and exercise.

The nickname of “Superfly” came from my first love and passion in TaeKwonDo. Starting at the age of 6, I worked my way up to a 3rd degree black belt, and went on to fight in my first international competition at the age of 13 in Colorado. I was given the nickname because I fought in the fly weight division and I was super fast!

The Lost Fire:

The Lost Fire:

After I left TaeKwonDo at the age of 14 due to some unfortunate events, I began to lose my “Superfly”. My heart was broken, as my first dream was to be an Olympic-level fighter. From the age of 14 until 21, I struggled to re-find my passion and strength.

I attended Hilliard Davidson High School, where I participated in cross country and track & Field, but my fire just wasn’t the same as it was when I was chasing my first love and Olympic dream. I loved school, and that was always a strength for me. Over the next four years, I stayed active as much as possible because I knew it was good for me. However, I still felt lost. Little did I know, this continued for the next 7years.

The Broken:

Upon graduation, I attended The Ohio State University (GO BUCKS!), where I entered the most challenging and rewarding phase of my life. I attempted to integrate myself upon enrollment, but I was still having a hard time since that elite athlete inside me was not being exercised mentally or physically. In fact, I went on to gain more weight in college, where I hit my all-time heaviest and lowest point in my life.

One day, I decided that I had had enough of feeling sorry for myself, and I decided to climb back up to the top! I lost 30lbs, and I felt so great that I figured I was in shape enough to fight again! I soon found out that I was not as strong as I thought. After two rounds of fighting, I connected with my peer on a kick and down went my ACL. Right when I thought all was back, I was kicked down even deeper. So, I had to start all over again, at least, that is what it felt like!

The Trainer:

The Trainer:

During this time of ACL tear and reconstruction, I was also learning to be a personal trainer. So, since I needed some major help, physically and mentally, I decided to reach out to a trainer who I found through a mutual friend. The lady to the left, IFBB Pro Natalie Calland, was patient enough to become my rock as I transformed my life from a broken college student to the strong, independent woman that I am today.

After 2 years of training, I went on to compete in my first bodybuilding competition at the Mike Francois in Westerville, Ohio. I had a great time and boy did I feel like a supermodel! The following year, I attained the goal of working a booth at the Arnold Classic! I worked with Rule 1 and Rivalus, which was such an exciting and exhilarating experience

The Climb!

went on the graduate in December, 2013, with my BSED in Sport Industry. I came into my graduation day with THE biggest smile on my face that I had ever had. I knew that I was on my way up!

Looking back, I can confidently say that I had re-found my “Superfly”!!!

The Comeback:

In 2014, I decided to switch over to power lifting and weightlifting at the same time. I competed and placed 1st in two powerlifting competitions with Lexen Xtreme, where I met some great, life-long friends.

My best total after 9 months was 755.
Squat: 295lbs Bench: 170lbs Deadlift: 300lbs

The Choice:

At the start of this year, 2015, I officially dedicated myself to the sport of Olympic weightlifting, where I am back to chasing my dream, once again. No matter what happens, I will be happy doing what I love the most! Chasing after my Olympic Dream.

Today, I am the strongest mentally, physically, and spiritually that I have ever been in my entire life. I thank the Lord, my family, my friends, my coaches, and every single person who I have ever met, even the ones who have brought trials to my life. A special thanks goes out to all those who have encouraged me to be myself and follow my heart, for those are the best words one can be given.

With that said, I encourage you, as well, to be yourself and follow your heart, with all your courage and confidence!

Be Strong and Be Superfly, always,

Stephanie Hohn
